Using Revolut abroad

Sorry if the answer to this is obvious but ....
I've got a Revolut account and have loaded some cash onto it then used that to buy £1,000 worth of New Zealand Dollars stored in the account ready for my trip there in November.
If I use the card in New Zealand, either for cash withdrawals or spending, will their system simply spot that I have the NZ Dollars and reduce my Dollar balance rather than my £ balance?
