    Hi Neil - yes that's what I read. At the ATM I wasn't sure which option to choose, so I selected to take the rate quoted in Euros. Was this a mistake?

    Choosing the Euro amount is correct.
    Though from your subsequent replies, it is not clear if that is what you really did.
    (No interest for a) Maximum 56 days from date of transaction for new purchases and for non-sterling cash withdrawals if you pay your main balance and any monthly purchase plan payments (if you've taken out any purchase plans) in full and on time each month. Note - Your main balance is your current statement balance less any purchase plan balance.

    No interest free period on cash withdrawals(Sterling) and balance transfers (this is subject to any interest free promotional offer).

    So as I suspected this is the reason why interest was incurred on the withdrawals. Pounds were taken from the card and converted by the ATM at the rate shown. Being conned into selecting DCC has this additional negative consequence (for Barclaycard users).

    Yet Barclaycard staff are too ignorant to realise what happened and 'confirmed' that interest is payable on non-UK cash withdrawals..!

    I'm not using the Barclaycard Platinum Travel card - do they issue such a card specifically for travel but give no advice on the multiple pitfalls of DCC when using it..?
