PPS Parking Charge

Hi, I am hoping for some advice after following the Newbies Thread

Further to your email received, you have passed the stage where you can appeal this charge. I can confirm that the PCN was issued correctly.
I have attached all photographs taken of your vehicle as requested.
The charge was issued prior to GDPR becoming active. If you wish to view the current signage at the site, you will see they inform the motorist what to do if they have a data query. The Notice to Keeper sent to you informs you on what to do if you have a data query under the heading Registered Keeper Details and Data Processing.
Ourselves, our debt recovery agents and our solicitors reserve the right to serve notice on you by any approved and reasonable means.
Payment must now be made to clear the PCN, or court action will ensue, as per the Notice to Keeper letter.
Yours sincerely,

1. I have been sent pictures of the vehicle in its parking position and photos of the signs but have not been sent a POPLA code. All of this information was sent by email although the template letter from the Newbies thread clearly stated no email correspondence.

Sorry for the long winded explanation....my question is what do I do next?

Any advice gratefully received.

They are in the IPC you won't get a POPLA code you are in ignore mode to see if the scammers go any further.

Really appreciate the advice Fisherjim, I have been doing some reading and if my understanding is correct Premier Parking Solutions use Gladstone Solicitors who apparently do take many cases to court even though their success rate is low. I am curious to know if this is correct and if so why they would do that. Apologies for all the questions.

If you didn't reveal the driver's identity in your appeal, then you need to edit your post to remove information about who parked the M/C. Only ever refer to The Driver/Rider and The Keeper, who are two different people.
    Parking scammers monitor these fora.

Do this NOW before you do anything else.

The why is easy; they are money grabbing scammers and just want your money.

I don't know how likely it will be that they try court, nobody can know that. You can have a look at their past experience with court on the PADI (parking appeals) website.

This site (MSE) had about a 99% win rate against court cases last year, so stick with us if they do try it on.

Do complain to the landowner, and do complain to your MP about this unregulated scam.

These are some of the comments made by the MPs in Parliament concerning the unregulated parking industry (Feb 2018):

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.

Thanks Fruitcake, I will definitely come back to the site if I hear anything more. In the meantime I will find out who owns the land in question and send a letter of complaint and also contact the MP as advised.

I doubt Gladstones success rate is low. It's just VERY low, against posters here!

Can't recall PPS being particularly litigious recently, we hardly ever see their cases mentioned, as going to a claim (don't assume that a 'Gladstones letter' is really from Gladstones...yawn, Debt Recovery Plus use that letter heading too).
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
