Gutted the kitchen in few weeks and looking for a good / powerful glass extractor hood, any recommendations? What features do I need to look for?

When re-modelling our kitchen, we changed to a NEFF N70 extractor which is flush with the ceiling.

When buying one do you look at Extraction Rate for power and assuming higher the better? Struggling to find 80CM Glass hood with decent power. The Gas hob is 75cm, 80CM hood will be ideal, might have to consider 90CM space permitting.

Don't forget the noise level. Some are quiet, some aren't.
Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.

There are so many cooker extract hoods on the market,Like most products there is the usual trash !.

I would recommend a 'neff box extractor hood',they are quiet stylish (sorry not glass) and work very well, hope your ducting the extract to outside its worth the effort.

The 90cm wide hoods grab more cooking smells, grease, water vapour etc,They were around £500 but worth it compared to some i have removed.

It would also depend on your hob type with regard to width, induction needs to be wider than gas/electric.

Don't just go on the width dimension, look at the width with regard to the actual filters, some 900 hood only have 600 filters.

Choose vented over resurc as these are just there to look good.

Good luck I'm going through the same process and these are my findings so far.

Can I ask: why is that?

I'm intrigued, too. I can't see why the method of heating makes any difference. Heating a pan of water from 20 to 100C will generate the same amount of steam however it's done.

because there is no heat to the side of the pan(s) resulting steam tends to fan outwards, with gas/electric the steam pattern is more candle shape and is more vertical.

Google extractors for induction hobs for more info, also some video available to see this happening.
