Norton 360 - a bargain at Currys!

I have just used Currys 'reserve and collect' service to buy a copy of Norton 360. This package is very well reviewed in most magazines and is really nothing like as intrusive as previous offerings from Norton. The standard product retails at £59.99 in PCWorld/Currys etc. BUT, if you search online at Currys you will find two 'versions' which are actually identical. One of these is a bargain at £29.99. Simply reserve this item for collection at your local store. On 'checkout' and only having gone through the reservation process the phrase WBW PC/Laptop. This item is supposed to be sold at half price ONLY when you buy it with a Laptop or PC. However, you are able to reserve this item on it's own for purchase. When I did it and then went to collect I was half expecting to be told there was a mistake and would obviously have fought my corner vehemently. Anyway, there was no such issue. This package is for THREE PC licences so works out at a mere £10 per PC for a whole year of updates and protection.
Well worth a look ... you won't get better value for £29.99!!

Must admit I would prefer a Norton Commander 750 to the 360 ;-)

pcpro recently proved that avira antivir has a higher detection rate than norton and its free........
  • Oh dear, listen to all the nay sayers :D

Norton 360 is actually on the PCPRO A List: http://www.pcpro.co.uk/reviews/alist/

If it's anti-virus only people are after I'd recommend NOD32.

For an all round security suite though Norton 360 is extremely good.

Norton has earned itself a bad reputation over the years for having bloated software. That certainly is not the case any more.

This year I have tested several suites, Kapersky, F Secure, McAfee, Trend Micro and Bit Defender among others.

Out of all of them I'd have no hesitation in recommending Norton 360 (especially at this price) or the Kapersky security suite.
  • I use Kaspersky Security Suite, would never go back to anything else, very good detection rates
