I'd take that over Norton anyday
  • I tried Norton Internet Security because it came free as part of my broadband package. I quickly removed it because it made my PC slow to the point of being unusable.

Apparently, Norton 360 doesn't suffer from this problem and has had far better reviews than other recent Norton products. It's probably worth considering if you're looking for something that someone who's not very computer-literate can install and forget.

Having said that, it doesn't offer anything that you can't get elsewhere for free.
  • You can always use ZoneAlarm and AVG Anti-virus - which have free versions or ClamAV which is free anyway.
Either which way I wouldn't let Norton on any of my systems....

I went out and bought Norton 360 after the OP's post, so thanks very much.

I've had internet security, and it's been OK, so I'll try 360 for only £29.99.

The guys in currys almost didn't let me have it; I could see them saying it should have been bought with a router, p.c. or similar, but they gave in eventually.

get zone alarm it now has kaspersky antivirus, norton is a joke.

no norton's is a virus and is only marginally better than mcafee because whilst both are crap at least it is possible to safetly uninstalling norton's.......mcafee is the pc security equivelant of soft doggy-doo stuck on the sole of your trainers

I use Kaspersky Security Suite, would never go back to anything else, very good detection rates

received very good reviews only beaten in most reviews by the trend micro internet security

i use zone alarm, and avast anti virus (prefer it avg), windows defender. also use hijackthis! which can sometimes be quite handy

I always use McAfee it is great and I have never had a problem uninstalling it. Doesn't slow down my PC either and works very efficiently.
I would never use McAfee Firewall mind you that is dog poo or Norton.
  • Norton is $hite end of.

    All you need is avg/zonealarm

is it definately the 3 user version?
  • yup.. im with the guys and girls who would sooner shoot themselves than have norton.

Ages to load up... hundreds of pop up messages.. an eternity to actually do anything and it seems that everytime you update anything you have to restart the PC. Plus.. kerio personal firewall does a job (free)... as does zone alarm.

im firmly in the "shoot me" club
