ukcps ltd court action

I ve read lots of threads about ukcps ltd not going to court so I thought I would comment on my own case and update it as it goes along......my son uses my van and parks it outside his flat. they have issued numerous tickets even though he has a permit in the window. I told them who the driver was and explained he had a permit to park. but on the phone they said I personally didn't have a permit to park and it was my vehicle and I had to pay regardless and if it was wrong I could claim the money back afterwards, so I said take me to court........I have had papers from a court in north Hampton to make a defence which I intend to do.....it would appear, I could be wrong, that I have to pay the court £100 fee to process the application with out a hearing and £255 with a hearing.......any one know if this is correct? .....since I told the debt recovery people I m contesting all charges they have sent loads of letters , four on the same day , I now owe ukcps £1050.00 in parking fines........is this a scare tactic to make me pay the first fine before I go to court? or should I go to mediation like the court suggests......many thanks for any advice

post #2 of the NEWBIES FAQ sticky thread helps you with court claims
if you are defending an MCOL, there are no charges to pay unless you issue a counter claim
I have no idea where you got those figures from0 -

If you just have a court claim, you defend like you will have read about in the sticky thread that everyone reads before they post...you know, the section about defending a claim.
Re-read it, do the AOS online (easy peasy) and show us your draft defence, if you have a claim, not a Judgment against you.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

You are not understanding this.
These scammers are taking you to court so they pay
to do so. As a defendant, you pay nothing to put your
case in front of a judge.
You mention £255, that is the fee you would pay a court
if you had lost in court and got a CCJ which you want
to be SET aside.
What is it ????
The inflated debt arrives from stupid debt collectors
adding fake fees ... which company sent you the debt
collector letters ... was it DRP0 -
I think the fees relate to form n244 application notice.....I m not legal minded in any way so this is all new and confusing at the minute. the debt collectors are zenith and DRP, both of whom are polite on the phone but go through what seams like a script about CCJs and credit ratings. my defence is that even though I own the vehicle I have not parked it on the property, I have not seen any signage and as such I have not entered into any contract to park. the driver has been identified to the company on the forms sent .......I know its a scam but I have no idea how to beat it other than go to court and tell the truth........and hope the court uses common sense.......thanks for all the help0

You do not have a CCJ - you have a claim and the Newbies thread shows what to do.I know its a scam but I have no idea how to beat it other than go to court and tell the truth.
That is exactly what you have to do ... but it takes 6 months to get there. In between there is a lot of form filling which can trip people up.
Follow the instructions on the Newbies thread or ask here. If you were not the driver and you've told them who the driver was, then you will see this off. Here is a script you can read that make these "polite" scammers
to be half baked cretins

Debt collectors can do NOTHING they are only trained
monkeys .....just sit and wait now, no more contacting

It's beyond the debt collectors now. Its at the court stage.
DO NOT call the debt collectors as anything you say may find its way into the claim at a later stage. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.
Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct
Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.
The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0
