See if there are any Meetups in your area. There are sometimes groups of certain ages who meet up socially, sometimes it is interest groups e.g. theatre trips, cinema, meals out, walking groups. I know several people who have had a great social time and some who have met "the one" in these groups. It is Meetup.com then enter your town/city and see what is happening, if nothing maybe think of starting a group.0

If you're over 30 like me there's a good chance you don't have a smartphone or tablet so Apps are not possible. But online dating can still be done on a computer and although many sites claim to be free to use but aren't once you want to talk to someone, there are some that genuinely are completely free. Otherwise just smile at people in the supermarket or anywhere you see someone you like, don't be afraid to say hello.0
