No beeps on boot but numlock, caps lock and another light lit on keyboard but do not rrspond to the appropriate key presses to change. Fan runs, a few initial disk clicks only.

I am assuming a duff machine at present.....but anyone know better?

Not booting or there is an error on screen and your screen resolution is not compatible with the display.

Thanks. I had neglected to think of screen resolution. Worth connecting a good display and changing or getting the shop to do it and thus prove the machine itself is ok.
