Humax HDR 2000T

We yesterday received delivery from Currys on line a new Humax 2000T box to replace our old one.we have having great difficulty in setting up . we keep getting message no wired connection and also when we press the media button on the remote control to go into recordings nothing happens. Anyone else experienced these problems or have we got a faulty box. Humax customer service help line is an 0345 number which for us is expensive and there is no regional phone number available.Any help will be appreciated.

    So do you have wired Ethernet connection to the box?
