G24 parking notice

Hi there

Just wanting advice on what I should do next. I received a G24 parking notice at a retail park in East Kent. I followed the guidance here and sent a letter through using ‘mitigating circumstances’ in my appeal. I know it sounds strange but the reason I stayed over was that my daughter lost her comforter and I spent ages going back into every store looking for it. I attached the evidence of the letter which was attached to the comforter by the shop that it was found in.

I received a reply yesterday saying that they wouldn’t accept it and that I could appeal again to the Independent Appeals Service, pay or wait for court action.

I really don’t know what to do - the fine was £100 but if paid early £60.

I know everyone says don’t pay it but I’m so nervous as we really cannot afford it.

I know the laws have changed but not sure how it would affect me?

Thanks so much!

Where did you find the guidance on here to use "mitigating circumstances", that appeal was just ridiculous, sorry!

You are dealing with a scam industry, you cannot possibly have read the 'Newbies start here' thread where all is explained, and which includes a template appeal to send.

Appealing to the IAS is futile they aren't interested and the whole scam is fuelled by greed.

You are now in ignore mode but will face a barrage of ignorable debt collectors letters.

You are in luck the abysmal muppets at G24 don't do court and they are unlikely to start with your little mistake.

All this is explained in the Newbies thread read it for more information, never trust a PPC and it's not a fine!

    Your chances of court:

Another victim of the dreadful MSE 'advice guide' instead of coming here? Ouch.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

what has happened has happened ....

so after watching and reading the below .... you have to go back and complain to ALL the store managers .... please not not the customer service people .... if they will not help complain to the head office ....

''Rip-offs from car park Cowboys must stop''; unfair treatment; signage deliberately confusing to ensure a PCN is issued; ''years of abuse by rogue parking companies''; bloodsuckers; ''the current system of regulation is hopeless, like putting Dracula in charge of the blood-bank''; extortionate fines; rogue operators; ''sense of injustice''; unfair charges and notices; wilfully misleading; signage is a deliberate act to deceive or mislead; ''confusing signs are often deliberate, to trap innocent drivers''; unreasonable; a curse; harassing; operating in a disgusting way; appeals service is no guarantee of a fair hearing; loathed; outrageous scam; dodgy practice; outrageous abuse; unscrupulous practices; ''the British Parking Association is as much use as a multi-storey car park in the Gobi desert''; and finally, by way of unanimous conclusion: ''we need to crack down on these rogue companies. They are an absolute disgrace to this country. Ordinary motorists and ordinary residents should not have to put up with this''.

These are the exact words used, so you should quote them to your MP in a complaint and ask him/her to contact Sir Greg Knight MP if he wants further information about this scam.
