Morning,
We had new upvc windows fitted over a year ago, and we was told to grease the mechanisms every 6 months.
What do you use to do this, because wd40 is not recommended i seen, but they do a silicone based spray which people say its ok, and some people dont??
Thanks

wd40 specialist high performance silicone lubricant spray, will do the job but use sparingly.
Its an excellent product ! and will have many household uses.0 -
My upvc windows have been in for 35 years now & have never been greased or lubricated in anyway........0

3 in 1 light oil in a spray can.
I didn't lubricate the mechanisms on one of our windows for years and it jammed shut. I managed to get some oil into the handle and open it, but then it wouldn't close and lock properly.
I ended up having it replaced.0 -
I'd use silicon spray.0
