    thanks all, still notresolved, not had anyone else out due to having trouble finding someone who will do it (some didnt have the right certificate?) and also some firms havent called back :rolleyes:

    anyhow, i have now posted in the `is this fair` thread about a firm who could come on Mon...
  • Could be the valve but if it's deffinatly an un-vented cylinder i would be draining it down first and then re-filling. some have an air section at the top which can dissapear after a while. Easy job to do but can be time consuming.

    Nothing much can go wrong with these things, only problem as youve discovered, is finding someone that can work on them

    thanks all, for info it was the mixer valve that had gone.
    All fixed now by a nice man from BG (prob paid over the odds, but had peace of mind going to them)
