Remove voicemail, but how?

I have a Samsung A5, mobile. It seems that a couple of times each week, when ending doing whatever it is then placing the phone in my pocket, I hear talking, look at phone and the keypad is showing on the voicemail screen and I can hear the voicemail woman. I never use voicemail and wish it wasn't active. Is there a way of removing it. I don't want the facility.

Depends on the network. The voicemail is your network not the phone.

With Vodafone i just dialled them and disabled it without speaking to anyone.

With Life i had to phone and get them to disable it.

Top tip, delete your voicemails before you ask them to disable it. As i was on the phone to cancel it a voicemail came through which i could then not access.. But it showed on the screen as voicemail waiting to be accessed. Had to enable it..get the voicemail and then cancel it again.

Can you not just lock the screen when finished?

For EE you need to call them and ask for it to be switched off. It can't be done from the phone.

This may not solve your problem.

You need to lock your phone before you put it in your pocket.

Might also be worth getting a cover for it so the screen is not activated in your pocket.

    Hello,

Just text VM OFF to 150 from your EE phone/SIM to turn off voicemail.

    Thanks, Jenny

Each time I send that, via your suggestions, EE tell me they are busy and to try again later, so will.

they are still busy, poor souls

I found EE not very helpful in turning voice mail OFF.

Each time I rang them they said they would but never did

One of the reasons I left them and went with Tesco mobile. With Tesco its a simple number to dial on the phone 2915

If they ruffle my feathers, I will tell them they stand to lose my custom for landline/broadband/mobile
