PCN - ce-service

Hi All,

Recently received a PCN through the post foe the parking charge notice. The incident took place on a sunday morning shortly after 8am and lasted for 14mins as an enquiry was made at a local gym.
The car park is 'privately owned' and the three businesses that use it have no control apparently.

Unaware that a registration number had to be entered in an iPAD in store to remove your car from getting charged the subsequent PCN was sent. Enquires at the business were made for support to be told no sorry.

I read over the newbie guide and saw the generic letter to be sent. I guess I am fine just copying and pasting that to ce-service? Also on the website when it asks are you the driver of the vechile I click skip as to not admit anything? Then when it asks if I am the Registered keeper I click yes or should I skip that part also ?

Thank You

    The generic letter is fine.
If you are forced to click on an option "Registered keeper" sounds like the best option.
  • Hello,

Thank you for the quick reply. The online appeal form is asking for the appealants information.

Name, Address, phone number and email all are mandatory fields for filling before being able to process the appeal. Is this standard? I would have prefered to not give out detials such as my contact number.

    Thank You

I wouldn't give scammers my phone number, put in zeros or make up a non existent one, they have no right to your phone number!

They need the name and address of the person appealing. They do not need a 'phone number.

Never select Driver as an option. You want keeper or registered keeper. Double check that it does not default to driver before submitting the appeal. These scammers are nasty and will set the fields such that changing any other part of the document will revert back to a driver selection, even if you have already selected something else.

  • It wont let me proceed without a valid phone number it is saying, I dont see why that is a REQUIREMENT for an appeal as I dont want contacting via phone and they already request an email.

Wondering how to proceed. Should I add another number instead like my partners?

Give them the phone number of Whipsnade Zoo then. Or your local police station, or railway station.......l! Or find the phone number of a rival PPC and give them that. They're all valid phone numbers! This isn't rocket science - and you're dealing with scammers!

Just one sole company CM? I bet you know that number off by heart, so you will key it in without having to look it up! :D
