Well bu**er and bum, twice I've tried to post, twice the site has done an auto refresh and posts b lipped out of existence.
Short version, had good day with friend yesterday, bought shoes, made brownies for work, flapjack for home. This morning have made lemon drizzle cake for work. DS incensed that I'm baking for my own retirement lunch. But few of us bake and my baking partner in crime is on hols.
Will probably be back later but for now, Nelski take it easy, Dumpling I make dirty rice too, mine is usually egg and veg Chinese rice.
I'm posting this quick before it happens again.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning everyone,
It’s windy here in East Anglia but dry at the moment, I was up at 2am and in the garden taking my tomato basket down and stashing it safely amongst the herb pots, didn’t really get back to sleep after that so feel like a wet rag at the moment.
Today is the usual food shop followed by chores around the house, then it’s over to see Lu in the afternoon, I wanted to do some schooling but will see how the weather is, she can be spooky in the wind!
Tea is fish and fennel bake.
Hope all appointments, busy days and meals out go well, take care folks x0 -
Wind and cloud here but no rain, even though that pesky weatherman says it has been raining for an hour.
I've had toast and marmite, food of the gods.I was jumping to conclusions and one of them jumped back0 -
Morning
Windy and grey here today no rain yet but hopefully soon as the lawn is yellow. Gardener came to mow the lawns yesterday bit there was nothing to mow.
Project feet up is going ok ish ....boredom is taking over though and at this rate ill be getting pressure sores on my backside from too much Love Island viewingHad a steady stream of visitors yesterday which is so appreciated. I now have a house full of wine, flowers and a beautiful basket of plants from a bessy
One of my favs coming round today to take me out for lunch which I am excited about as it will be first proper out for a week ...cabin fever setting in now
Called mum yesterday and she had managed to [STRIKE][STRIKE]manipulate [/STRIKE][/STRIKE] persuade a neighbour to take her up to morrisons ....hoping they love the experience so much that they offer to do it every week but somehow I doubt itShe told me I would be well enough to take her again in a couple of weeks...note to self must tell my consultant he is wrong about 6 weeks lol
have a good all :A0 -
Nelski I'm sure you wouldn't be permitted to drive to Mr M, wander around & drive back just yet...
Wild, warm & windy here, lots of sand blowing on my drive to work up the Prom.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Good morning to you all,
Weather isnt too clever here this morning. Seems like Hector is making his mark.
I worked late last night. Well I say worked, I was hosting a dinner with clients, but still.
So tonight, I plan to do very little. I might bake, Im undecided. Still not 100% from Ibiza.0 -
Good morning.
We have the wind here, although the roofers have arrived and are up there as I type. Rather them than me, but they should finish today.
DH is working from home today so I have some company, he is going to Dublin tomorrow so I have to take him to Bradford airport early in the morning.
I spoke to DDiL and she sounds much happier now she knows she will be escaping toxic boss. She had the satisfaction of their biggest client asking for her personally to take part in a conference call with them -completely out of the blue. She'd worked with them at her last firm and must have impressed them. I'm not surprised, she's a very bright woman - DS has always gone for super-intelligent women, no bimbos for him.
As I have access to the car today I might pop over to Lancashire to see my favourite Aunt, I've not seen her since before Christmas. She's one of the most life-affirming people I know and has a wicked sense of humour. I want to see if I can get some more recollections of her parents and other family members.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
Its windy here, things taking off........the trees at the back are giving it some.
OH seems to be ok again, we were due to go out for tea today, have asked them to come to us instead, just in case. I was very tired last night, but apart from waking briefly a couple of times I slept ok. Hopefully I will be a bit better today. The gardener is due today to cut the grass and do a bit of weeding in the front. He has just phoned, coming tomorrow, he got behind yesterday, not a problem as long as he comes.
No supper tonight, friend is bringing birthday cake for OH, its his birthday next week but they are away. We will have a snack later.
Nelski, you Mum reminds me of mine.......I was never allowed to be ill...what ever, I had to take her shopping. Despite having a family, if she was not well I was expected to drop everything and go and look after her.
Right better get my bum into gear and hoover the sitting room carpet.0 -
Morning all ( well it is at the moment but by time I press submit it probably won't be :rotfl:)
We had a gust of wind early this morning followed by some drizzle from Hector, so we got off lightly. I hope that you all survived in one piece.
We have been to Al*is this morning, I don't normally like going on "busy" day but we must have hit a lull, so that was good. I needed some things to take with us on Saturday so that we won't need to shop till Monday at the earliest. The nearest Al*is is near Honiton and it's my favourite town, for some reason I feel so at home there, so we will visit and shop on the way back to the van.
This afternoon it's cleaning upstairs, dusting and hoovering as I go. I also have a few items to iron, then start bringing the holiday stuff downstairs.
I may be late posting tomorrow as I have an early dental hygenist appointment and then it will be over the van, cleaning and sorting. Phew I'll be glad to get away for a rest :rotfl:.
Tea tonight will be pie and chips, with ice cream for pudding.
Nelski didn't the consultant say 16 weeks and you misheard. I had to cut Dad's hair yesterday despite being incapacitated with my strapped up wrist
.
AOD any lemon drizzle cake left ? Hope you are enjoying your retirement.
Snoozer apologies thought it was your DD not DIL. Hope her new job is much better for her.
TA sending hugs to you and Mr TA hope all goes as it should today.
Hope everyone has a good Thursday.
Take care and hugs to all
PS The time is showing 11 am but it's 12, strangeFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Big cheers, I have done the pile of ironing.
We have been picking large amounts of strawberries, OH has been nagging at me to make jam, I found a recipe for strawberry jam in my King Pro cook book so thats what I will be using. He is out in the garden picking enough to make up a kilo of fruit, plus some for our friends who are coming here this afternoon instead of us going there. Just do not want to take the risk that OH might have a vertigo attack, we might be stuck there for hours.
I have started to post in the green fingers thread in Reclaimed garden, you can see some of the work we have done on the garden since we moved here 3 years ago.
Off for lunch....cheers.0
