Do I have to get these from the vet (or ask them for a prescription) to get the best? Is there recommended ones that I can buy off the internet that doesn't need a prescription?

My vet always recommends drontal or panacur.
And advantage is again recommend by my vet, or strong hold but strong hold is prescription only so I stick to advantage.
I buy both from animed direct for a fraction of the price vets charge.

I get Advocate and Drontal from the vet as part of their "healthy pet" scheme (basically a direct debit monthly that covers certain services - works for me as my cat has a chronic condition). Advocate is same as Advantage in terms of flea control but also covers certain worms.0
