Hi
I hope you can help? My husband and I have recently been turned down for a BTL mortgage, the broker says its my husband as my Experian credit rating is 999. I applied for a mortgage on my own but have been turned down again due to 'association' with my husband - joint bank accounts, joint savings, utilities etc - but also my husband is providing me with the deposit. Several years ago he had a CCJ and was in Debt Management but recently retired and paid everything off. We want to use his lump sum to buy a property to let out. Anyone any ideas what we can do next?
Many thanks

Hasn't your broker suggested a lender which accepts credit issues or is at least working on such an option?I am a mortgage broker. Hi - yes they said they had a 'department' for such cases, but it was over a week ago and they wont return my calls. Obviously we want to get this moving as soon as possible as we have an offer accepted on a property.
Thanks0 -
If the broker has not come back to you in over a week, it sounds like they have either forgotten about you or are struggling.
I would either give them a chase or find a new broker.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. There are definitely lenders who do bad credit and BTL mortgages, you just need to find a good broker who can point you in the right direction. unbiased is a website for finding advisors!0
