shower enclosure : corrosion? on wheel mounting

Had a new shower enclosure installed last Aug
Today the bottom wheels came off the rails on one door and other door is on way out too.
The wheel mountings are a metal block with a chrome plastic cover, it seems the metal has ''corroded" and the expansion has cracked and forced off the plastic covers
Until I see new parts not 100% how the mountings work, since didn't fit myself and the instruction drawing are not that clear in that area

Have contacted the supplier and they are sending new parts but it shouldn't have failed this soon ?
Any ideas what would cause this ?

Wheel assemblies failing have been a bane of my life in recent years. The bottom line is they are all made in China and to abysmal standards of design, quality and workmanship. When they have failed and replacements arrive one finds they have been "redesigned." But again they are made in China and the redesigns subsequently fail too. Touch wood no problems this week, but I know of some creaking doors and would not be surprised if these fail too - it is a warning sign.
All part of a broader picture unfortunately. Part of which is consumers buying off the internet with two thought in mind - "how cheap is it?" and no consideration for engineering or quality.0 -
Thanks for your input, almost certainly right about the China/price trade off
Mrs Bob is paranoid about use of harsh cleaning agents etc in her new bathroom, but it looks like something 'chemical' happening here to me

looks like the fixing were made of baking soda, keep your eyes on the new ones.0
