Dual Insurance for Company Vehicle

Hi, I am looking to take on a company vehicle, but they only provide Third Party Insurance. Is there a policy that I could take in addition that would cover me as well?

If the company vehicle was damaged, would the company expect you to pay for all damage to the vehicle, or just a contribution?
I've worked in companies who essentially self-insure, but we set an excess for the employee to contribute if they were responsible for damage. I had quite a bit of freedom as a manager - if it was just 'one of those things', I could even waive it, or just charge them £100. If they were being a complete idiot they could [in theory] find themselves paying the first £1000 of damage and get a verbal warning (not that it ever got to that point).0 -
The company wouldn't be providing any personal cover. It would be expected of the employee to make own claim.
They would pay for vehicle.0 -
Do you mean "personal accident" cover? Motor insurace rarely does give that sort of cover (and if it does it is only for a small amount of cover)
If you are injured driving due to a third party's negligence you sue the third party for compensation and your costs0 -

Are you thinking of personal possession in the vehicle? Or injuries to yourself?0 -
If they only insure it 3rd party, it must be cheaper to replace the car than make a claim for it?
Puzzled why a company would insure the car 3rd party though? How old is this company car?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

It's not all that unusual for the very large fleets of large national companies.
Some find it cheaper in the long run to repair the vehicles themselves out of the money they save on not taking comprehensive.
The OP certainly needs to find out exactly what she is letting herself in for though. Most people massively under estimate the chances of them being in some type of accident0
