Help - cracking bathroom tiles!

Hi all,
We had our bathroom retiled in 2015, however the tiles are already cracking really badly, both on walls and floors. In places the cracking is looking very linear (indicating movement), however in other places tiles seem to be breaking completely at random. The tradesman who did the job (and whom we won’t use again) says that it’s the tiles, and the tile company says it must be due to movement in the building and the walls / floors not being adequately prepared….
We are now going to have to get our walls and floors completely retiled as we are worried about our little boy cutting himself on the tiles / them falling down on him. This is going to be an expensive job as it obviously includes taking the suite out again and getting the floors and walls adequately prepared etc..
Should we bring this matter up with our insurance company (presumably building insurance) to try and make a claim? We feel really cheated, not to mention out of pocket, would be great to get some advise on how we go about this!
Also, we have chosen a different builder this time who will prep the floor with plywood, should we put some kind of boarding on the walls too? Any tips on how we can make sure that we don’t have the same problem next time would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
