Creative Zen Vision M 30GB Mains Charging

Hope I've posted this in the right place!?....
I've recently bought a Creative Zen Vision M 30GB which was supplied with the standard USB charger. I would like to charge the player through the mains but I'm not sure how to?!
I bought a non creative mains charger off a well know auction site but within minutes the charger blew and tripped all the electricity in my house (thankfully the player was ok and it was a lesson learned to say the least!).
To charge the player safely would I need to buy the Zen Vision M docking station and the Zen power adapter? Does the Zen power adapter connect to the docking station and into the main socket? Or am I completely wrong!?
