Hi
I think I have posted here about this once and read many of the threads here
I am in a flat with more than 20 year old night storage heaters (two manual types and one with convector all by Dimplex)
Two of the have the flaps broken and the one with convector heater doesn't really function well in its convection mode (I am sure of this because I had rented a place prior to this which has identical models which were fine)
An electrician who feels NSH are better says my old NSH's bricks could have given way and the newer ones have better insulation properties.
I don't have gas heating (no connection), I am aware gas heating beats any other heating any day (other than solar or heat pumps probably).
1. I was nearly going to go for electric radiators here (https://www.economy-radiators.com/). They were cheaper than Rointe which was the other brand I considered. However the online reviews are really mixed. So I stayed away.
2. The posts here say NSH is the way to go. So I was considering Dimplex Quantom. However once more reviews are mixed. One more thing I don't prefer the fancy automatic electric panels (I don't trust them for reliability or for cost saving in terms of usage).
3. Where can I source manual storage heaters? Which brands sell them?
4. Would there be any older automatic storage heaters which are more reliable than Quantom from Dimplex?
I was thinking I was decided however when I read mixed reviews around Dimplex Quantom I am thinking if I should go for older storage heaters or new electric radiators.
Please advise (like other I am mostly away in the day).
Thank you very much.
