Ipad battery drain

Options
We have an Apple ipad air 2 but since upgrading to the latest IOS I have noticed a quicker drop off of battery power. After our last ipad 2 was rendered unusable by ios updates i vowed never to trust them again with their updates but sometimes the idiot raises it’s head.
A lot has been said by Apple about this subject of power drain, built in obsolescence , and we don’t do that ect. Well I think they are lying again.

Yes Apple want to give their customers a !!!!!! experience so deliberately cripple older devices with latest software updates so customers buy the latest hardware. If that is how gullible you think Apple customers are or how evil and corrupt Apple is then please do not buy any more products from them fo the well being of your mental health.

Now for a more pragmatic view on the situation. There may well be underlying issues between the latest software and the older hardware that is causing some excessive battery drain. Taking into an Apple store they may be able to try things to see if they can improve it.

One thing to be very aware of the the battery in your iPad will not be holding a charge as well because the battery wears after so many cycles if you have not replaced it.

My current 12.9 iPad from 2016 has a charge capacity of under 50% and I have noticed the battery drains quick watching youtube videos but not while using netflix. It is not causing a main issue at the moment just because the battery is so damn big and I always have the iPad plugged in between using it. However I did check with Apple and it will cost me around £93 to get a new battery which is much better than spending £769 on a new 12.9 iPad.
