I have tried and tried to get below £200 but, no matter how carefully I meal plan and budget, I never seem to be able to do it. :o

Dont forget Bobbykins.... the cost of some basic staples have increased by a shocking amount:eek:  over the past couple of months. Milk, bread and butter to name a couple..... But this is having a knock on effect with other products.

So it may not be anything that you are not doing, but what the supermarkets / shops / suppliers / are doing.

Good Luck in December... think I will follow your lead... and have a little more in the December budget.. for the little extras. :o

    ..

Thats a really good point nopot :T

GC girlies, you're all doing really well, and you should cut yourselves some slack and be proud of what you're achieving!

if you get downhearted because you think you've 'failed' then just remind yourself of what you used to spend and how much was in waste! I used to spend anything between £40 and £70 a week, just for me  so getting my spends down even near my monthly budget of £80 is a major accomplishment!!

    signed GC granma!!! :D

  • Well I still have £3.50 left so pleased this month. Its going to be difficult to work everything out for December so will have to give that a miss as I have £14. top up at Tesco, voucher for £7 off £50 shop and my £76 jam jar challange to spend so will not have to touch much of my budget. Will be up for January when I want to cut another £10 off spend . Buying air miles with my club card vouchers for a trip to New York.:T

Very good point about the basics going up, if I didn't have so much in left over I don't know if I would have got through without going over budget. Even the basics like butter, milk, eggs etc all been going up in price, I think I am paying 56p a pint now for milk so there is £5.60 gone a week on that as I get 10 delivered.
One day I might be more organised...........
    GC: £200
Slinkies target 2018 - another 70lb off (half way to what the NHS says) so far 25lb
  • Just come in for week 4 @ £101.01.
This includes my big Mr. T shop which I can now do fortnightly as this seems to be best for me. Will update my Nov total on Fri as I work from 1st to 1st. See you all in Dec!!

Yes I have begun to notice to notice this although our local convenience store hasn't been too bad. But 56p for a pint of milk is horrendous . I get ours for 69p a litre locally and 67p a litre from Mr. T.

Delivery from Mr. T came yesterday and came to £80.54. As there is only 1 more day left to the end of the month I shall come in nicely under budget :jHere's hoping we'll all do well in December. That's Boysies as well as Girlies Rosieben :D.

  • One more day to go tomorrow and I've come in at just over £1 over which is the closest I've been to on target ever so I'm viewing it as a success of sorts. That said I did buy a bit jar of pesto yesterday but it can come out of December's budget since it will last probably right through to the new year.

    here's to December.

I know Mike, I was paying 78p a litre delivered at the last house, I was a bit shocked when he came for the first payment a couple of weeks ago. I really would like to be able to support the local milk delivery and 56p a pint stops me spending £5 every time I pop to the shop for milk :o I will have to consider reducing it if I need to however.

I don't think I managed it for November - I was doing really well until OH went out and bought loads of food and didn't bother with a receipt . I am trying again with a weekly budget for December. I will also keep a food waste diary, as I have a big problem of buying things thinking 'Ooh, I'll make X out of that', and then just watching it rot.
