You have a good point. Radiators really can be disgusting things.

Column radiators are a little more duster friendly :o

The other type are where you look down into the radiator and there are metal ducting in zig zag pattern and unless you can dismantle the radiator how would you ever get anything in between this ducting to clean meaning you're going to accumulate dust that will reside inside the radiator forever as far as I can tell
I bought a special radiator dusting brush from Lakeland. It's a time-consuming and mucky job so doesn't get done very often. However the one now in their catalogue doesn't look nearly as effective, handle not long enough!

The square tubes turn a radiator into a convecting radiator. They help move the heat around the room.

A suitable stick with a small cloth stapled to it works for me.

Those grills just lift up quite easily, if you google it there are some youtube videos showing you how... then, you just need a radiator dusting brush and you shove it up/down inside each bit.

I think most people just think "out of sight, out of mind".... as they don't realise how (theoretically) easy it is to lift up the top grill.

What would happen if a person spilled a mixture of eggnog at Christmas, or if you had a weight trainer who dropped one of those thick shakes full of ground up protein some of which would be egg.

During a recent Christmas gathering at my home a reveller bumped into my weight trainer spilling both their drinks onto the radiator. I had to use a damp cloth on a stick to remove that!
