in Cutting tax
I am preparing a claim to HMRC to reclaim higher rate tax on my wife’s SIPP contributions. Her job provides private medical insurance, but it is not shown on her monthly pay slips or P60. Her tax code for FY18 was 1150L so it is not accounted for there.
We calculated her SIPP contributions based on the amount she should pay in to recover all her 40% tax but as things stand she has paid in more than needed, ie she will recover less 40% tax than we expected.
A friend said that when she receives her P800 it will show her PMI and SIPP contributions and let her recover the balance then. Is that correct?

....
PMI should be on her P11D. Deadline for submission is 6 July, so you may have to wait a bit.0 -
