I have been contacted by a ppi reclaim agency I gave them some information on a loan that I know I had mis-sold ppi they contacted the company and they said yes, so they have got a case that needs investigated they would do this and reclaim any mis-sold ppi for 42% of any payment I asked them to send me the information they have and all they sent me was a form for them to make the claim for me.
So really my question is can I ask for all the information such as the account numbers as I don’t know any of the account details as it was a few years ago or do I have to find them myself, if so how do I go about getting these details from black horse

You would ask Black Horse.
But if you've already signed with the claims company, you might as well let them post off your complaint.
On the other hand, you may not have had PPI with them at all.0 -
Yes I have ppi with them and I!!!8217;ve signed nothing this is not the sort of advice I was expecting on here
if you read again you will see that0 -
The advice you've been given is the advice you need so I'll repeat it here for you for clarity.
You ask Black Horse for details.
If you've signed an an agreement with the claims company you're committed. If not, you're not.
Just because a claims company says you have PPI, doesn't mean you had PPI.0 -
The Claims company are not obligated to "reveal" anything to you. You say you know you had PPI on this loan, so why do you need account numbers? Just send in your own complaint and bypass the Claim Company entirely. So really my question is can I ask for all the information such as the account numbers as I don!!!8217;t know any of the account details as it was a few years ago or do I have to find them myself, if so how do I go about getting these details from black horse
If you really must have the account number(s) first, write a speculative letter to Black Horse asking that they confirm PPI and provide you with the loan details. This is what the Claim Company will have done (if they have acted properly).
Yes, a cynic amongst us might suspect a Claim Company of "confirming" PPI just to get a signature on a contract.;)Deleted_User wrote: »Just because a claims company says you have PPI, doesn't mean you had PPI.0 -

Unless you gave the firm a letter of authority, they do not have the account numbers either.
You need to understand CMCs are scammers, they pretend to have specialist knowledge and access when in reality they do the same free of charge process you can do and they rely on naive people believing them to keep getting work (hence the PPI "industry" because they know people who fell for PPI are likely to be fooled again).
All they will have done is seen you had Black Horse finance and guessed you might have PPI and hope to hook you in. Then they will send off a generic letter and see what the firm comes back with.
You can simply write to Black Horse yourself and ask for the details though do remember they were the finance provider, the vast majority of Black Horse finance was done through third parties like car dealerships who have liability for the sale, NOT Black Horse unless the person who sold you finance worked for Black Horse (unlikely).
If you had Black Horse finance, was it through something like a car dealer and was it after 2005 or not? If before 2005 and sold by someone other than Black Horse then it's pre-regulation and can be dismissedSam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Yeah it was through Audi in 2004 and I know I had ppi with them as I asked to use it but they said I couldn’t because I was self employed but I was self employed when I took out the loan but on the agreement at the time I signed said I was a manager but I never said that I said I was a freelance manager helping sort local companies through hard times and ignorant leadership seems like I and black horse was duped by the dealership0

So you signed a false declaration? Any PPI you had would therefore have been invalid and would not have paid out. Do realise, though, that this would not be mis-selling because you made the signed declaration yourself.when I took out the loan but on the agreement at the time I signed said I was a manager but I never said that I said I was a freelance manager
Regardless, if you purchased the PPI from an Audi dealer it would be the dealer to whom you should send any complaint. As another said, 2004 would be pre-regulation and the dealer could dismiss any complaint on that basis.
I expect the Claims Company already know that your complaint is not with Blackhorse, but they are hardly likely to tell you unless you sign up as their customer.
Have you told the Claim Company about the false declaration of your employment status?0
