Function key reversed

Options
Hi

I am having several problems with my laptop (Toshiba Satellite P50-C-18 windows 10).

One of which is that the function key is reversed. (ill create a another thread about other problems as there's a few!).

Due to various problems I decided to re install windows, which didn't resolve the original issue (screen not waking up from sleep) so I decided to do the recovery/reset where it went back to factory settings-

Unfortunately it never resolved any issues just gave me a few more-

So my function keys are now reversed. I have checked in Toshiba settings that they are correct, I have checked in bios and they are correct, I have turned them off and back on, reset laptop, etc but its not being resolved-

So to increase/decrease volume and brightness I now have to hold FN key first.

What else can I do or check please?

Thanks

Does the Fn key have a coloured symbol?
Are the Vol+ and Vol- controls shown on other keys in the same colour as the Fn key symbol?

If yes then pressing and holding Fn before doing Vol+ or Vol- would actually be working as intended.

    No it hasn't-/no they aren't

Also it was working as normal before I did a recovery/reset-

    Thanks

The only other thing I did before reset was a bios update from Toshiba site- so its now on a new Bios than before but I should think that would not be the cause?

I guess this was in relation to your other laptop issue? (Screen brightness?)

Have you installed all their specific drivers? Windows 10 may have installed its own which might be causing the issue.

No that was someone else. I did read their thread looking for ideas.

    Yes I have.

Installed everything directly from Toshibas site. Installed Toshiba Service station, Toshiba settings, Toshiba health monitor, Toshiba Utilities and many more I cant remember.

I just don't understand why in Toshiba settings and bios when you change the function key setting it has no impact?

Are you saying it has no impact in Windows 10? It might be a Windows 10 issue.

If I had it, I'd try running Process Monitor to see if it would show what is going on when the keys are pressed.
