ESA and PIP at the same time?

I have been off work due to mental health and getting ESA (income related). Someone I know who is disabled said she gets both ESA and PIP, is that right? I looked at the criteria for PIP and I'd say I definitely qualify, but would it replace my ESA or put it at risk if I apply for PIP too?

You can claim ESA and PIP at the same time. They are two separate benefits.0

PIP would not reduce or stop ESA. On the contrary, receipt of PIP may actually entitle the claimant to additional supplements on ESA.0

Yes. One is meant to compensate for the costs of your disability, the other for being out of work and unable to seek employment.
