Greece help

Looking to book a holiday to Greece in Sept, but just overwhelmed by all islands and resorts....can anyone help narrow down my search

I Want to fly from Glasgow/Edinburgh, nice resort, a few bars and restaurants....but not party central

See if Turkey, or Cyprus, cost a little less.

I would start with the wikipedia pages for Glasgow and Edinburgh airports and note the destinations and airlines for the direct flights
check out whether the airline/times/prices are acceptable, ruling out those that are not, then have a look for accommodation then.
There could be less overwhelming choice then

I would suggest looking at Stalis Crete, meets all your requirements.

Thanks, don’t fancy Turkey. I’ve already been to Cyprus

Thanks, aleardy done all of this. Having never been to Greece the volume of Islands/Resorts available was too much to narrow down, just looking for suggestions from people that have actually been there

I thought that Stalis runs into Malia which is the party capital of the island, the poster said they did not want to be in " party central":rotfl:

Yes, they may meet, but distinctly different resorts.

Kardemena in Kos is also worth a look.
  • Corfu is lovely and from there you can go on day trips to Albania if you fancied a different sort of excursion. The party part is Kavos, which is an absolute dump, even for a party resort. Fortunately it was planned well and placed on the southern tip of the island away from everywhere else :).
