Nissan Finance 1998

Hello,

I am trying to help my wife reclaim PPI from 2 Nissan Micras she bought using their finance in the 90's. The big problem we have is that she has no paperwork left, so we don't know who to contact.

Nissan Finance is not on the resolver website, so I thought I would ask on here if anyone knows if it is possible to go back that far?

Thanks
Shailesh

You have to complain to whoever sold it to you (most likely a dealership) and as it's pre-2005 it was pre-regulation so they can dismiss it.

Without any paperwork and no evidence you even had PPI this complaint is going nowhere

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

As mentioned above, you would complain to the car dealership. However, they were not regulated until Jan 2005. So, they dont have to consider your complaint (and they wont).

you dont complain to the lender.

I took out a car loan from Nissan in 2012 for 3 years. I don’t have the paperwork(can’t find it) so I don’t know if some kind of PPI was applied to the loan that I maybe able to claim back. I certainly don’t remember them asking me about any insurance policy!

Is there way to find out if the loan had PPI ?

I saw Martin on TV this morning n he mentioned car loans.

    You'd ask them.

But there almost certainly wouldn't be, from 2012.

By 2012 the mis-selling scandal was already well known. Far from selling it, wide scale refunds of the insurance were already in full swing.

So I doubt very much you'll have had PPI (or even been offered it) on so recent a sale.

Nothing to stop you enquiring, however..
