I am in the unfortunate position of requiring hosting. I was on the hostplus basic package + extra shared SSL (https) but it seem's they've gone belly up....... icon8.gif

I'm a simple man with simple needs:

1. At least 100mb of space
2. At least 1.5 3.0gb monthly bandwidth (upgradable)
3. Frontpage Server Extentions
4. FTP & host provided control panel
5. MySql & PHP
6. Upto 50 email addresses
7. Upto 5 sub domains
8. SSL (https)
9. Atleast 1 MySql database
10. Backup facilities
11. Unix based

I have been looking at the entry level 1&1 @ £4.99 / month this is more than double what I currently pay for what im not getting? Is this a wise choice or are there alternatives which are marginally cheaper.

I will also need to transfer my existing .co.uk domain name, speed would also be a cruisual factor (my site's no longer live!!) Ive been left high & dry.

There are so many "hosting" threads I would go blind trying to find the answer's so I figured what the heck, let's add another.

PS - No one suggest HOSTPLUS

1 of the many e-mails I received was from a representitive from andhosting. It included all the information eg URL's in order for me to access my account on their servers. The URL's didnt work & they have NOT responded to my emails for assistance. I have been waiting for 5 day's for technical support from andhosting. In my book that is very shoddy service........ They will NOT be getting my business. icon8.gif In the meantime my website continues to be down and I am getting very annoyed.

    Hello Tony,

I suggest in doing some research when choosing your new host on webhostingtalk.com or through a few directories like webhostdir , ppcforhosts.com etc.

    Best of luck
