I deleted a load of old emails several months ago, I could now do with recovering some from 18 months ago.

If you deleted them through the website (gmail.com), they're gone forever.
If you were using an email client (ie Windows Mail, Outlook 2007/10/13/16, Thunderbird etc) there's a small chance of recovery but if you've been actively using the machine in the last 18 months, the chance diminishes greatly.0 -
