Thanks for the replies at least I know I am not alone. I do usually buy the squeezy bottle, but it is more expensive than the tin.
Occasionally it's on offer, 2 bottles for £1,which is when I stock up (GS lasts for well beyond its BBE date, the concentration of sugar means that bugs don't stand a chance) Never the big 4 mind, look out at FarmFoods, Poundstretcher and Poundland.

If I need just a little bit in a recipe that can take colour and proportions needn't be exact (eg chocolate Krispy cakes, flapjack) I make a date syrup instead. Soak some dates in small quantity of hot water, pulp and then reduce to the required consistency.

As you can see I'm really concentrating quite hard on work this morning! :D

I just successfully decanted an almost-full tin into an Aldi ketchup squeezy bottle - they have a wide neck so it can be poured in easily from a height!

I can generally find it cheaply too. The best time to of the year is after pancake day.

For honey, I'm happy with a jar from Aldi.
