Been using the BPme app for a couple of weeks now, with no problems, i have found it quite convenient as our local BP is also a Spar shop and often have to queue behind shoppers when paying for fuel

Went today and after I selected the credit card to pay with a message flashed up on my phone i needed to agree to a £100 holding payment to cover the cost of the Fuel which would be held for a few days

As i sometimes fuel 2 cars and a my motorcycle a couple of times in a week that means they would want to be holding on up to £400 possibly

So what's the point you are making?
It was quite publicised about pay at the pump methods increasing the holding charge to £99 from £1.

How can you use the app when the signs tell you to turn off your phone!
  • This app is a complete waste of time, it just does not work properly. Is you select full tank they charge your credit card with £100 right away. When you fill up and then return the hose to the pump it takes a long time for something to happen. I got no message to say transaction was completed. As far as I could see the next person to use the pump could still do so at my expense as the pump was still unlocked. In my case notification of the amount spent came through to my phone about 30 minutes later.
I don't think I'll be using it again.
