If you use external funds, eg. Zurich Invesco perpetual high Income (Inv Perp being an external fund manager) then the FSCS protection is not 100%. if you use internal funds such as Zurich UK equity then it will be 100% FSCS protected.

Thanks Dunstonh. The only funds available to invest in all start Zurich Mercer so I assume as thats an external company the protection is not 100%?

Mercer is the pension administrator. So, that would not be an external investment company.

Does anyone know who owns Interactive Investor? As far as I can tell it's via a holding company in Guernsey, Antler Holdco Ltd.

Seems like Interactive Investor Ltd ?

How did you work out it had a holding company?

Probably by reading the Companies House filings for Interactive Investor Limited.

I had a look but couldn't see it listed - must of missed it. If the holding company must be mentioned in the filings, it must be there.

Yes I did a search with CheckFree on them when I was checking out platforms

    https://www.checkfree.co.uk/Company/02101863/INTERACTIVE-INVESTOR-SERVICES-LIMITED/Company-Details/

Ultimate parent showed Antler Holdco Ltd, not UK registered. In the full report it showed some pre-tax losses so continued financial strength of the group and parent company is key.

Thanks - Which report did you see the parent listed in?
Did you manage to find the accounts of the parent?

You can see reference to the parent in both their updated articles of association from August 2017 and the scheme of arrangement from July 2017, both available on the free Companies House gov website.

You won't see accounts of the parent, as the parent is a Guernsey co, and while you could get some corporate documentation from their equivalent of companies House (which wouldn't mean much to you anyway, so is not worth you paying for), there is no requirement for Guernsey companies to make their accounts available to the public.

As I mentioned and linked in post #18 they're owned by JC Flowers, the private equity investment group. You can see John Christopher Flowers as a Person with Significant Control on the People tab on the company profile at Companies House.

I opened a login account with them (CheckFree that is, not II) and got the full credit analysis report which was useful as it showed a bit more analysis and supplier information which is not stuff that is filed at Companies House. The parent was listed there but because it's not a UK registered parent a separate report would be needed for that company. I didn't get a report on the parent company because overseas company reports can be a bit more costly and accounts are not always available for non-UK companies so I didn't take it any further.
