Disputed delivery

Hi,
can anyone help me? I ordered a £90 item from ebay and never received it. The courier says item was delivered and signed for using my surname. I don't believe any of my neighbours would have done this. I contacted them several times but they would not deal with me as their contract is with the sender. Contacted the sender who just came back saying signed and delivered. Then started a case with ebay, they have closed it saying the seller provided tracking information.
I am crying with frustration and stress!!! I don't understand what happened but the courier is wrong and seems there is nothing I can do

There's plenty you can do. If you think the seller is the lost cause then you need to get through to the courier again.Hi,

Contact them politely via Twitter and you should get a response. I usually follow the courier then send a message like this ".@courier parcel delivered for me signed for in my name but no one at my address has seen it, can you please find the local driver and see if they can shed light on what appears to be a theft of my property"
I've had this happen a few times as a seller and always help the buyer, unfortunately if you end up opening a case the seller has to put in the tracking details and that closes the dispute.
If the courier doesn't help I'd then Tweet Ebay and then follow that with Paypal. It certainly shouldn't be a lost cause.
If you do fail with all of them then contact your local Trading Standards via your local council and see what they advise.
As far as getting any of them to help Twitter is your best bet, Facebook sometimes works but Twitter is the most effective..0 -
thank you so much for your reply.
the courier says they are in process of getting copy of the signature - why on earth it takes so long i don't know - but any information is only passed on to the sender and not me as 'their contract is with the sender'. so i am reliant on the sender forwarding it to me and not confident that will happen. he has already told me it was signed for by me and unsympathetic. ebay say case closed. it just seems brick wall. arrrrghhhhh!0 -
In this situation nowadays the seller will first tend to protect their account.
Last year I ordered a collapsible chair from ebay. The courier said it was delivered and signed for tho none of my neighbours had it. About 12 days later it was placed on the doorstep one day. The only conclusion I arrived to, the courier left it at completely a different property (in a safe place), those occupants came back from holiday, discovered it then delivered it.
It could be the same with yours, the holiday season is here.0 -
You really do need to get the seller onside if you can.
Opening a case wasn't going to help that.
Try the seller again, explain that it isn't delivered and you understand you have lost the case but ask them if they would help you dispute the delivery with the carrier.
Was it a business seller?0
