Good morning everyone,
Most people reading this thread will have purchased a property at some time.
I am trying to find out what on average a solicitor charges for dealing with the purchase of a property. I have just bought mine and I feel I have been ripped off.
Would any of you mind posting me how much your solicitor charged you for your house purchase.
Year 2006 - 2007 excluding stamp duty but including searches and extras.
Cheers

Ouch. Think we paid 350 quid (+150 for land registry) because our solicitor was a friend of the family. Thank goodness for mates-rates0

I'm in the process of selling & buying & my solicitor's legal fee is £300+vat for the sale, plus the usual disbursments. For my related purchase his legal fee is again £300+vat, plus disbursments & searches & land registry fee & stamp duty, but no extra charge for filling out & returning SDLT form. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0
