I am so upset, gone from one dirty smelly cottage to another one that the bed is too bad to sleep in.
It stinks of smelly socks and us dirty. We are at welcome holiday park in Dawlish Warren.
I paid £446 for this after paying twice as much for s cottage in seaton. My two disabled sons are so upset.
I want my £446 pound back.
Where do I stand

Have you complained to the site manager?
Have they got a complaint procedure?
Your 2 sons being disabled is irrelevant to the complaint.
It should not smell for anyone0 -
I!!!8217;ve used Sykes cottages for the past few years. I found them usually cheaper than other companies. We!!!8217;ve had some excellent properties
Did you contact Sykes as soon as you saw the property rather than waiting until you got back home? They may have been able to do something about it.
We stayed at a cottage in Ireland a few years back. It was awful, had not been cleaned (remains of food and coffee in cups sitting around). We visited the head office in person and they moved us to another place, much nicer and much more expensive.0 -
Was it just a smell?
Photographic evidence helps if it looks a mess?0 -
Sykes Cottages are getting worse. They've buying up small holiday cottage companies but can't cope with the number they already have. There will be no choice but them in the future
We had an awful, dirty cottage last year and complained. We got £50 back from them and £50 from the owner. It was better than nothing, which is what you usually get!0 -
You apparently did nothing to complain about the first property while you were there, when the problem could be resolved, and now you expect a 100% refund? Dream on...No free lunch, and no free laptop0
