Car insurance, not my car

Does anyone know of an online company i can use to buy car insurance from? I want to learn to drive, it will be my cousins car, not my own car, he will be teaching me once a week, for 1 hour. I've tried several online insurers but towards the end they are all asking question for my car, when its not my car, its someone elses (my cousins). So far i'm getting £1,000 a year insurance quotes, when i'm only going to be driving the car 1 hour a week. The car itself was bought for £1,000 years ago !!!!!!!!

I cannot afford the rip off prices of the local driving instructors so i need my cousin to show me, then after a while, i can go to a local drivng instructor, when i know how to drive. So it doesn't cost me a bomb.

Better to post on the insurance boards, rather than the PPI boards.

Ask your cousin to add you as a named driver

Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

What has the fact the car cost £1000 got to do with it. Do learners in cheap cars have less chance of being in an accident?

It's not the price of the car that matters, it's the damage you could do with it.

And when the driver kills half a family costing the insurer several million pounds, do you really think the £1000 cost of that car is still the issue
