Natwest Rewards Card....Rewarding enough?

For Ten Long Years we have had a Tesco Clubcard Credit Card.
We both work for Tesco, and alot of our pay went back to Tesco Supermarket or Direct.
We thought we had a good deal, getting points every month to spend in store.
We no longer think this.
We want a better deal, and have a savings account with Natwest - the rewards account getting money back on household bills.
The Rewards credit card gives us 1% on all purchases for an annual fee of £24.
That SEEMS good? Would we need to spend £2400 to break even?
Apologies, maths is not a strong point!

How is your credit history?
Most of the Amex cards would easily better this, then you can use the Tesco card as a backup.0 -

There's the 'fee free' Platinum Cashback Everyday Credit Card here:
https://www.americanexpress.com/uk/credit-cards/platinum-cashback-everyday-credit-card/?linknav=uk-amex-cardshop-allcards-text-PlatCashBackEverydayCC
Or if you prefer to redeem your points for vouchers etc there's the AmEx Rewards card:

Don't know if you plan on keeping your Clubcard credit card but it's worth pointing out you'd earn 1 point per £1 spent at our PFS sites even if you use the AmEx to charge the amount to (assuming you fill up at Tesco, of course). It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
Amex with Natwest Rewards as your Mastercard backup is a pretty good fee-free combo (presuming you have a Natwest Reward CC and a fee-free Amex).0

If you have a NatWest rewards account you will get the £24 annual fee on the credit card refunded. You will also get 2% casback on household bills. It is £2 per month but that is easily recovered and you will still get the basic Tesco Clubcard points.
Pay £100 per month on household bills like energy, water, council tax and you break even. Everything else including 1% of you Tesco spend is profit.
PS The NatWest Reward credit card only gives 1% on supermarket spend with 0.5% on everything else.0 -
I had the RBS version for a year and it is pretty good, you get the annual fee back if you have a reward account and you manage the rewards online, they have special offers with other providers for certain periods, I had 5% at Waitrose for 2 months at one point. I was earned £55 in 6 months and I only had 1 direct debit at the time. Nero was a basic 1% but always had extra percentages on offer.0
