Help! No reply to my appeal from ce service

Hello Everyone,
I really need help with my appeal against the Civil Enforcement company. On the 10th of April, I received a fine of £60 for parking in a Parking space where I usually park. I always pay when I park there but on that day when I wanted to pay the Machine was out of order and I just could not pay. I took a picture of the machine in case I still got a parking fine. A few days after I received the fine and appealed immediately sending them the photo of the broken machine. However, after 14 days I received no reply regarding the appeal and heard nothing from them until 6 weeks after I received a letter from the same company with an increased fine of £100- mentioning nothing about the appeal that I made.
I am not sure of what to do because I have not received any feedback on my appeal that I made online!!
Could anyone please give me any advice on the next steps that I should take? Has anyone ever made an appeal to the same firm

I assume that because you keep referring to this as a "fine" you have not read the 'newbies' thread where all this is explained!

    Yes. Thousands of times.

CEL, or Civil Enforcement Ltd, are beaten several times a week on here.

Only yesterday at least two threads have those bold words in the thread title, and just nineteen minutes ago another one was posted.

I received the fine and appealed immediately sending them the photo of the broken machine.
You've already appealed, they have 35 days to respond with either an acceptance of the appeal (and cancellation of the charge) or a rejection of the appeal (and a POPLA Code).

If you are past the 35 day time point, then you need a strong complaint to the BPA, copying them with any correspondence between you and CEL. I think if CEL have the BPA sniffing around, they might just cancel this.

Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

This is an entirely unregulated industry which is scamming the public with inflated claims for minor breaches of contracts for alleged parking offences, aided and abetted by a handful of low-rent solicitors.

Parking Eye, CPM, Smart, and another company have already been named and shamed, as has Gladstones Solicitors, and BW Legal, (these two law firms take hundreds of these cases to court each year). They lose most of them, and have been reported to the regulatory authority by an M.P. for unprofessional conduct

Hospital car parks and residential complex tickets have been especially mentioned.

The problem has become so rampant that MPs have agreed to enact a Bill to regulate these scammers. Watch the video of the Second Reading in the HofC recently.

and complain in the most robust terms to your MP. With a fair wind they will be out of business by Christmas.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.
  • What should I include in my complaint to them ?
Because it hasn’t been more than 35 days

Send an email to the BPA, as the NEWBIES thread says on post #5.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

    Make up your mind.
Is it more than 35 days or less than 35 days since you appealed?
