Good morning everyone :hello:
It's very cloudy here today but still warm so I have the ceiling fan going at full blast and Bobby is gratefully sprawled directly underneath it. Phoebe has just left for school as she has another exam this morning. Her sisters are still in bed but I will get them up in a bit as we have shopping being delivered.
I had a visit from my lovely cmht lady's big boss yesterday as my lady is still off sick and she was worried about me which was very sweet. I found out though that she will be leaving in September to start her nursing degree and I will miss her terribly. I don't know who will be assigned to me yet or indeed if anyone will be so I am feeling a bit unsettled.
I have taken out steak and salmon from the freezer for dinner tonight and I am hopeful that Steve will cook it for me as he is on a half day today. I need to go and clean the fridge too while it is empty so I will crack on with that in a minute.
Nelski, I have everything crossed that your surgery goes well and you make a good recovery xx
AOD, yay, you made it, hope you have a fantastic day and a brilliant retirement xx
Hope you all have a great day whatever you are up to, take care xx0 -
Morning everyone,
Dull and overcast here, hopefully it will brighten up later.
We had a busy but productive day yesterday, all the pots and baskets are finally done and DOH lifted the gravel under the herb garden so that we can put a membrane underneath to prevent weeds. The garden is looking good but we could really do with some rainfall.
I need to go for some blood tests this morning, it’s a turn up and wait job so will take a book, then over to see lovely Lu this afternoon. Tea is salmon en croute, rtc from yesterday’s shop.
Hope today goes well Nelski and we see you soon.
Happy retirement AOD and hope you get back to sleep.
Hugs to all poorlies or those with worries, have a good day all x0 -
Morning all from mehefinland
Hugs and spoons to those in need and of course those having medical attention in whatever form.
Got mares shod yesterday ( fronts only) and it was blazing hot. Today is so so different I might need a coat!!
AOD, I found it took me abut 6 months to acclimatise to not going to work, the rushing around to get ready etc. Treat it as an extending holiday.
Camelot , your neighbours mishap reminds me of when I got kicked in the head by Scoobymare, blood everywhere and my poor specs were z shaped. Good job she didn't get me an inch lower or I wouldn't be here to tell the tale. Apparently when Mrs m insisted on driving me to horsepital they could see my skull. Just got a Harry Potter scar now lol. had a mother and father of a headache though.
and on that cheery note.......
Take care all

Morning all,
Nelski hope all goes well today. Thinking of you.
Early night for me last night. I appreciated having the whole day and night to myself as Youngest went straight out from work.
Just a few things to do in the house today before Grump comes home tonight.
Mehefin I love to hear your horsey tales. I love horses as much as I love trees ......from a distance.
Onwards and forwards
Have a great day allThis is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Back from taking my neighbour to the hospital, she is diabetic and has an ulcer on her foot, she has been very lucky not to loose her foot. She has been told that another 3 months and hopefully it will have healed.
I left home at 8.30am and got back about 11.45.pm. have just had beans on taost for my lunch, putting my feet up for half an hour.
Tomorrow is the village senior citizens tea party and Sunday we are going to an open garden in a village close to us. I wonder if am going to manage without coming home with more plants.
I ordered a variegated weigela, had an email this morning to say its on its . I will grow it on in the pot for a couple of weeks before planting it.
Fish, chips, peas for supper tonight. with strawberries for dessert. OH picked a good half pound last night.0 -

dumpling, sad for you re your chmt lady, but pleased for her - a nursing career. From what you have written it sounds like she will be a great nurse
Lainey, hope you don’t have to wait too long unless, of course, you want to finish your book :rotfl:
camelot, what a good neighbour you are :A
I am having a fairly productive day
Last load of DSis’s clothing & towels washed & now drying outside, last food shelf emptied & washed, swept kitchen, made bed, dealt with post - all interspersed with copious cups of tea/coffee & lots of sitting in the sun watching the birdies. A special visitor today - a great spotted woodpecker :T:j:T - haven’t seen one in our garden for three years
As I am listing everything to go back on the shelf, I am psyching myself up & enjoying watching DH working - he is planing bits of timber which will be stored for some future project :rotfl: He does love his power tools :rotfl:
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone

Afternoon my lovelies
A bit late today but we have been at Dad's all day and just got home. Mr Fix It and Dad have been cutting back plants and hedges while I have been searching high and low for a set of keys. Dad has lost his back door and conservatory keys so I've checked all cupboards, drawers and I've even been in the fridge/freezer and the rubbish bin. Hope his neighbours didn't see me in his wheely bin though . Still no keys so we don't know where else to look. I did find a set of tweezers, the top of a sauce bottle and a boiled sweet down the side of his chair though :rotfl:.
So now we are home and worn out ! His garden is looking better but there is still a lot to do, but that will have to wait until we're home from our hols.
Tea tonight will be tomato soup for me, as the tablets for my wrist are giving my tummy problems, even with my stomach medication
. Mr Fix It will possibly have sausage and chips or at least something quick and easy.
I shall send the Sandman round to the sleepless and healing vibes to the poorly.
Nelski I am thinking of you.
AOD you will probably think that you're on holiday for a few weeks, then you'll be wondering how you ever had time to go to work :rotfl:.
I hope everyone has had a good Friday ( I thought it was Thursday
)
Take care and hugs to all.Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
TravellingAbuela, would you consider stopping colouring your hair and leaving it to go its natural colour?
I was thinking it would be one less job for you to do, I quite like the colour of mine, its white in case you hadn't guessed! DH likes it too so thats ok.
I also wondered if you could get Mr TAs meds delivered to your door, I order my tablets on line from the doctors then pick them up, but my friends mum gets hers delivered to the door.0 -
Hi chums I am back from my holidays and feeling quite exhausted, long drive and M'way traffic but enjoyed it. Lovely folk in Birmingham and there is a fantastic museum. Lots of Nat Trust visits and far too many coffee and cakes consumed

DGS Ben phoned last night and I am so pleased for him he got a 2.1 degree in English Lit. and bless him he and his g/friend are off to Mexico to relax for a couple of weeks on Tuesday, hopefully he will be able to meet up with my niece while he is out there.
feet up and relaxing for the rest of the evening and I have a steak cooking in the grill for dinner with salad.
Snaffled a huge bag of wool in a CS while I was away for a fiver so no more wool needed this year for my charity blankets
Hope everyone has had a good week ,I see AOD has retired
now its time to do what ever you fancy.I retired in 1995 and am busier now than I ever was when working
but doing what I fancy and enjoying my grandchildren, and now a new little great grandaughter who I will be giving a big cuddle to this Sunday as we are going there for lunch.
Have a good weekend chums and try to stay cool ,its very warm tonight in Kent
