Hi everyone, think i have narrowed down my best boiler choice make and model and specifically the worcester bosch greenstar 25i erp and the worcester bosch greenstar 30i erp. (possibly 30si) i have been told all of these are the best boiler for a 2 to 3 bedrooms house.
I read online reviews of these boilers and all are good. It's also a Which magazine rated boiler.
so far I've got prices from £2350 plus VAT to £7000+ (British gas don't ask)
Can anyone suggest a fair price so I can go ahead with one of these guys!
many thanks in advance

No WB boilers are a best boiler, better than some & worse than othersI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Is your proposed worcester boiler replacing an existing boiler ? if so which boiler do you have at the moment. They will all heat your rooms but consider the hot water production.
If you insist on a worcester, get the cdi classic if fitting space is limited get the cdi compact.
Not a fan of worcester, better boilers are available !0 -
We had a Worcester Bosch 30i fitted earlier this year - replacing a failing 20 year old 24cdi Worcester Bosch.
Its reasonably compact and definitely smaller than my old one.
Cost including a magnetic filter thingy was just short of £2350 inc Vat, a full flush of my system, some minor pipework changes with boiler fitted in pretty much the same place as before. I would say the price you have been quoted is not too far off.
The plan is to replace the electric shower with a walk in shower fed from the hot water as part of a bathroom refurb next year and the output of the boiler was considered with this in mind. 3 bed house 2 adults, 2 kids, south manchester.
I only have experience of Worecester Bosch boilers in this house and previous houses any my experience is positive.
I used a local heating engineer company that I had not used before based on friends recommendations and the fact that the owner that came to do the quote seemed genuine and made all the right noises without being pushy.
Hope this helps.0 -
The Worcester Greenstar 25i will be cheaper than the 30i by £75-100 which will be cheaper than the 30si by about the same. That's the kinds of prices we used to buy them at anyway.
A good price for a Worcester Greenstar 25i straight swap with a magnetic cleaner, chemical flush including materials, labour and VAT would be £2,200 I think. So I think your price is slightly expensive.
If by 'best boiler' you mean the best overall, it's very hard to say, although the brand does come out top or next best on a lot of surveys, the public and engineers do seem to like the brand. I wasn't always impressed with some of their boilers and I have worked on them for a very long time, but I was always impressed by their technical help.0 -
Recently had 2 quotes for a replacement boiler. New boiler to be fitted in same place as old, flue has to be re-routed, new timer and thermostat, flush and test BG quoted £1189 for boiler and then with all the other bits n bobs the final figure (after old boiler discount) was £3136 surprisingly low for BG.
Local company who have used before gave quote of £2844 for same boiler but using a Worcester Bosch magnetic filter as opposed to BG's Fernox filter.
Am getting one more quote.
The boiler is for my elderly mum and Worcester Bosch was recommended by quite a few other people. I had an Ideal Logic which has been nothing but trouble over the past 4 years and would not try them again although other folk have been happy with theirs.0
