Wall dilemma

When I bought my house (small dark terrace), I removed the back bedroom wall by the stairs to make it lighter and to be able to use the space that was wasted by the corridor. I work at home and the space next to the stairwell makes a good office area now. It's as nice a space as it can be.

However, now some particularly noisy students have moved in next door and they don't like to sleep until daylight comes - which clashes with my need to sleep at night. I also know that when I decide to sell, most potential buyers will probably want a wall there.

I was thinking that maybe a compromise would be some sort of sliding or bifold wall panels, but I can't find anything that doesn't look awful or extremely expensive. And would they upset buyers?

Does anyone have any experience or suggestions as to how I can best sort this problem? And obviously I don't have a big budget.

Thanks
