GB Energy question

Hi

My mum's fix with GB is going to end at the end of next month and they've emailed her an offer for a new fix called 'GB Exclusive Fixed Sept 19'. Looking at her online account, it says she can switch with the following rates:

ELECTRICITY
Unit Rate (p/kWh) : 14.99p
Standing Charge (p/Day) : 20.14p
GAS
Unit Rate (p/kWh) : 3.23p
Standing Charge (p/Day) : 18.12p

Does anyone know if these would be inclusive or exclusive of VAT as the website quote does not say!!

I've tried emailing on her behalf asking this same question, but only received the following: "Due to the nature of the request, this is not something that we can action via email. We do appreciate that this may be inconvenient, however, we feel that communicating sensitive personal information requires certain protection requirements to be fulfilled."

So I'm now going to have to wait a week until I can get her to contact them (she's old and not good on the phone, so I usually have to take over from her).

Unless anyone here can answer. I'm not sure why GB can't answer it in email - perhaps they don't want it in writing...

Including or excluding, there are better rates than those. That is expensive.

It's probably because most people's email is not secure and that the supplier wishes to ensure that communicating sensitive personal information requires certain protection requirements to be fulfilled. ;)

Or perhaps your mum has not given the supplier express authority to discuss her account with you at all?

I would simply suggest at this point bashing your mother's energy usage into the Cheap Energy Club and see what comes up cheaper with other suppliers. You may be surprised.
