Hi guys i noticed today there is coolant leaking from what looks like the thermostat seal.

Now, i know VERY little about cars so although im confidant i can replace the casing or seal, whatever i find is damaged when i take it off

What im not sure about is draining and refilling the system, any advice for the most easy simple way of doing this?

When was your coolant last changed? If fairly recently then depending on where (how high up) the thermostat is you may not need to drain and refill, just top up the header tank afterwards.

If your coolant needs doing anyway then drain via either the drain plug on your rad or by disconnecting the lower rad hose.

I would also consider replacing the thermostat as a whole rather than just the seal depending on price. The last one I did was about £8 for a genuine part.

Thanks, ive only had the car about 3 months so unsure when i was last done so will probably do it anyway.
Thats not a bad call to replace the thermo too i will do that cheers

How about refilling? How should i go about doing that?

Just fill via the header tank, run the engine up to temp and top up as necessary.
(I will add that I haven't changed a thermostat in a fusion but have found it quite similar in a few different cars)
