as a researcher by trade i'm surprised you thought ordering an Iphone X on pre order from Ebay was the most sensible thing to do.

I got mine on apple pre order with ease as did pretty much everyone else who did it via apple as demand wasn't excessive like in previous years.

Surely your research should have lead you to a reputable company with better protection...
failing apple, network providers were also taking pre-orders sim free which would have been my second choice.

i fear your research has been substandard in this case.

I am guilty of spending too much time on ebay looking for bargains, this auction ended below retail price. After I got refunded by eBay, I did find another iPhone X for substantially below retail price, without getting scammed.

In front of Judge Rinder on live TV? Anything less and i still would not believe you. :)

And you dont mind being scammed upto £99.99, thats good to know. Wanna buy a bridge or a fairytale castle for just £99.99 ? :)

Sadly my local police office won't work with items under £100. In that case I take it to church and open it in front of 20 independent god fearing witnesses.

And Judge Rinder? No, straight to the top for me, Only Judge Judy will do!

Judge Dredd for me - and he is quite prepared to blow away with a las-cannon any perps that have charged too many credits for postage; or at least exile them to the Cursed Earth (aka Milton Keynes).

You haven't explained why you put in an order for delivery to a solicitor.

This raises so many questions that the veracity of your story is in doubt. For example, how did you get it delivered to a non-verified address? If it was verified how did you manage that? Why would you deliver anything to a solicitor unless you were pretty sure it would be fraudulent?

PS Actionfraud are often popping up here, I have reported to them 4 or 5 times with no feedback useful or otherwise.

    They have, its just, daft...

I paid over 2 weeks before the phone was released by Apple, as the seller was being erratic in his responses after I had paid, I became suspicious and changed the delivery address to a solicitor (without the address containing any clues to the fact it was being delivered to a solicitor).

Thanks for the replies (the [STRIKE]helpful[/STRIKE] ones that agreed with me at least :D).

Isn't that what you meant? :rotfl:

I'm still to see this 'strong evidence' that has been claimed. There is nothing in what you have posted that confirms the seller is fraudulent beyond reasonable doubt.
