Try making it and not telling him exactly what it is - works better like that ;)

    Definitely agree with this.
As an example, went out to some friend's house for a meal last week. Happened to comment what lovely braising steak my friend had cooked. Got a discreet kick under the table from my friend and a shush. Turned out her husband doesn't like braising steak since his mum cooked it for him as a child. At the end of the meal, he complimented his wife on a lovely tasty meal, then she told him it was braising steak. He was so shocked, so certainly worth a try. ;);)

    Kerri

I've been trying that one with him, unfortunately he notices when something isn't meat lol. I didn't eat and red meat at all before I met him and hardly ever ate chicken. He likes chicken breast, 2 at a time as well and I can't bear buying cheap meat.hes the same with chocolate, eats it for breakfast. I bought a load before my surgery and he finished the lot awhile ago. He goes off things very quickly as well and very often decides he doesn't like something before even trying it.

Think I'm going to make him some blueberry muffins with oats in and see what he thinks, along as he doesn't Know there their.

Snd well done to your friend, men can be so funny with food.sometimes we have to be a bit sneaky with food.

I think it can be a lot to do with how people are brought up too. As a child I was never made to eat certain things but always encouraged to try new foods, and was taken out to restaurants at an early age (luckily I was a child who would sit at the table with no fuss) so saw lots of diff meals and foods and menus. OH on the other hand had much more of 'this is your dinner and you'll sit there until you finish it' kind of upbringing. He's deff better at new foods, last 'summer' we had a breakthrough with salads....after 14yrs :rotfl:

I also sympathise with the 'phases' - one min X will be flavour of the month, I'll stock up...then it won't get eaten.

The muffins sound lovely - let us know how you get on (incidentally, blueberries have been another break through :))

Kerri my dh had a much more relaxed up bringing than me, although not where was are conferences, he still won't chew them to this day and swallows them whole lol. He might not no it but he gets lentils in his spag Bol and will have oats in the muffins. Good to hear you had a break through with salads. Dh wil say I will eat grapes, all get him some and he leaves them to go mouldy, so remind him there there and he said dont buy anymore. If only we could find a fruit that tastes like chocolate lol

    Good morning everyone

My ds is the fussy eater in my house, won't eat veg at all except roast potato's. It took some doing but I can get him to eat some lettuce and grated carrot now.

    Hope everyone is well.

Morning CW and everyone else :D
I eat meat and fish but I do like a vegetarian dish sometimes as well.
I had salmon last night. I buy it fresh when it's half price, get it cut up into nice sized pieces and get fishmonger to put 3 in a bag and freeze it. Perfect for us, 2 for me and 1 for OH.
Oh and I do love my veg! :D
FD eats quite a bit of veg but she hates broccoli - we still joke about her broccoli face when she tried it once :rotfl:
If at first you don't succeed, try, try, try - oh bu99er that just cheat :D
  • Good morning drivellers - nice and sunny here again today. Thankfully not got the predicted white stuff - yet :D and hope it stays that way.

Suddenly realised last night that in less than a months time I will be on holiday with family in Malta -:eek::eek: and still not properly organised so need to get myself moving. Car park, money etc so will spend some time looking at that today.

Also got my new car coming in the next few days and away visiting family etc next week and my birthday treats lined up for weekend/next week. Yikes - how did it come round so fast :D:p:D

You sound very muck like me Jeferey - I like fish and veggie dishes but don't eat meat. Had a gorgeous meal yesterday - think it was Aubergine Parmigiano (with vegetables and a few chips :p:o:p) and it was really yummy. Wouldn't have a clue how to make it though:p:(:p
